Apple's iPhone now accounts for 8% of all mobile phone revenue and a whopping 32% of the industry's handset profits, according to figures published by Bernstein Research analyst Toni Sacconaghi.

| Apple wrapping up Chinese iPhone negotiations? |
Apple executives are scheduled to fly into China this week, according to a source identified by regional news site Sina. The officials are specifically said to be heading to Beijing, with the express purpose of discussing the iPhone with peers at China Unicom.

| iPhone claims third of 1H09 cell phone profits |
Apple has achieved disproportionate influence in the cellphone market this year, says Bernstein Research analyst Toni Sacconaghi. Calculating figures from the first half of 2009, Sacconaghi notes that while Apple was only the fifth-largest cellphone maker, with 8 percent of revenues, it did manage to obtain 32 percent of operating profits.
"Even if we exclude the operating losses generated by Motorola and Sony Ericsson, Apple still accounted for 25 percent of industry profits," says the analyst.--->>Learn More>> |

| Nintendo warns iPhone may damage its sales |
Just recently considered the king of handheld gaming, Nintendo is now sending an alert that it could be trouble over its next fiscal year as Apple's iPhone and iPod touch might cut into its sales.
